Memories of the Neva

Stationed just off of the “Strelka” upon the frozen Neva, I invited passersby to join me for a hot cup of tea and a brief exchange regarding personal memories of the Neva river. I began by offering my own childhood memory of the Neva, prompting participants to recall their own. These exchanges lasted from five to forty minutes and went well beyond the Neva, often touching on the mutable nature of memory. All that remained of these exchanges was a jar of used teabags and our new memories of this event on the frozen Neva.
